About the Role
We are currently seeking a casual relieving teacher who can also serve as a Centre Van Driver when necessary. This position may involve working across our two Mangere East Centres: Learning Adventures Airport Oaks and Learning Adventures Mangere East.
Key Responsibilities as a Reliever:
- Collaborate with registered teachers to maintain a high standard of early childhood care and education.
- Work alongside colleagues to develop, facilitate, and evaluate all aspects of our educational programs.
- Be responsive to the individual needs, questions, values, and beliefs of the children.
- Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and staff.
What Your Day Looks Like as a Van Driver:
- Safely pick up and drop off children according to the established schedule.
- Transport children to and from Centre excursions as required, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Perform maintenance on the van as needed.
- Ensure the van register is signed daily by parents, and keep all administrative tasks up to date.
- Communicate with parents and caregivers to relay important messages to the Centre.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements to guarantee the safety of children in your care.
- Operate the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner.
Requirements
- Ability to teach children in a positive and nurturing manner.
- A passion for education and a commitment to providing quality learning experiences.
- Previous experience in early childhood education is a bonus, but a willingness to learn is essential.
- Flexibility to support our team during opening shifts (starting at 7:30 AM) and closing shifts (ending at 5:30 PM).
- A full and clean New Zealand driver’s license.
- Confidence and patience as a driver.
- A warm, friendly demeanor with a genuine love for working with children.
- A strong advocate for child safety at all times.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
