About the Role
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist for casual work within our Occupational Therapy team. This role offers flexibility in both inpatient and community settings, depending on your availability, skills, and the needs of our service. It is an ideal opportunity for those looking to maintain a healthy work-life balance while utilizing their Occupational Therapy expertise.
Our team consists of a small group of Occupational Therapists with a diverse range of experiences and skills. We are dedicated to supporting one another and prioritizing the needs of those requiring Occupational Therapy services. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with fellow Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Therapy Assistants, and a broader multi-disciplinary team. Strong time management, leadership, adaptability, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Occupational Therapy department is co-located with other allied health services, including Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietitians, Social Work, and the Community Assessment Rehabilitation team. Our newly refurbished facility features modern clinician spaces, including a large Occupational Therapy assessment bathroom, kitchen, and general assessment room.

About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A proactive and reliable work ethic
- Proficiency in basic computer systems used in healthcare settings
- Experience or demonstrated potential in a hospital or healthcare environment
- The legal right to work in New Zealand
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift, following patient handling guidelines
- A commitment to maintaining a high level of knowledge and skill
- A Full New Zealand Driver's License
- A collaborative spirit and enjoyment of working within a transdisciplinary team
- Strong relationship-building abilities with clients, whanau, and community networks
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn
- Cultural sensitivity
