About the Role
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic and progressive team as an inpatient rotational Occupational Therapist. This role is perfect for a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist, or even a new graduate who is eager to develop their skills within inpatient services.
In this position, you will primarily rotate through various hospital wards, including Medical, Surgical, and ATR (stroke/rehabilitation), with additional input into Paediatrics and Critical Care as needed. Strong time management, adaptability, and communication skills will be essential to your success in this role. You will report directly to the Clinical Manager of Occupational Therapy.
About the Team/Location
Our Occupational Therapy team is small but diverse, bringing a wide array of experience and skills to our service. We handle both inpatient wards and community-based referrals, ensuring that we prioritize those who need Occupational Therapy the most. Our team is dedicated to supporting each other and providing the best care possible with the resources available.
The Occupational Therapy department operates alongside Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietitians, Social Work, and the Community Assessment Rehabilitation team. Our newly refurbished location features modern clinician spaces, including a large Occupational Therapy assessment bathroom, kitchen, and general assessment room.
Situated on the Whanganui Campus, you will find Whanganui to be a progressive city with a welcoming atmosphere. The city boasts a vibrant café culture, excellent schools, and numerous sporting opportunities, complemented by some of the best weather in New Zealand. The rugged west coast beaches offer year-round surfing, fishing, and walking, while skiing and hiking at Mount Ruapehu are just an hour away, making Whanganui an ideal location for a family-friendly lifestyle.
