About the Role
We are looking for a General Medicine Physician to join our team. This role presents an incredibly rewarding opportunity for several reasons.
As a General Medicine Registrar, you will engage with a diverse range of patients, each presenting different conditions and backgrounds. This variety keeps the job dynamic and interesting.
The role also offers intellectual challenges as you will frequently be at the forefront of diagnosing complex or uncommon conditions. The problem-solving and critical thinking required in this role can be highly satisfying.
You will work across various medical services, including endocrinology, cardiology, and respiratory medicine, allowing you to continually expand your knowledge. As a General Physician, you will focus on comprehensive patient care, considering all aspects of a patient's health, from mental well-being to physical health. This holistic approach is deeply fulfilling for those who enjoy treating the whole person.

This position falls under the New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association and Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand) Collective Agreement, as well as the Specialty Trainees of New Zealand (STONZ) and Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand) Collective Agreement.
About the Team/Service/Location

About You
Our ideal candidate will possess registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Council. You can check your eligibility by visiting the Medical Council's website.
We require a minimum of two years of post-qualification experience and a strong interest in providing acute and elective surgical care to our community. It is essential that your qualifications are approved through EPIC, as per the requirements of the Medical Council of New Zealand. If you are committed to working in New Zealand, we recommend starting the EPIC credentialing process as soon as possible to facilitate timely registration.
