About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team in Christchurch. The ideal candidate will be capable of operating diggers ranging from 1.5T to 12T and hold the necessary WTR endorsements, with a Class 2 license preferred. In this role, you will be involved in various civil projects, primarily focusing on subdivisions, but you will also engage in basic demolition work and operate machinery for driveways and landscaping. Most of your duties will center around foundation digouts.
The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to approximately 5:00 or 5:30 PM. However, you may occasionally be required to work in the wider Canterbury region, which could extend your return to the yard past 6:00 PM.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and traits:
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a similar capacity
- A Class 1 Full License as a minimum
- WTR endorsements
- Proficiency in operating 1.5T to 12T diggers
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- A professional demeanor, understanding that you represent the client on-site
Benefits
We offer a starting rate of $30 to $32 per hour, along with full personal protective equipment (PPE). You will have the opportunity to undertake further training and development within a down-to-earth and hardworking team. Additionally, there is potential for this temporary role to transition into a permanent position.
