About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers for immediate and ongoing deployment across various projects nationwide. These positions are full-time and permanent, with site locations determined by project demands. This role is well-suited for individuals with a strong background in structural reinforcement who are open to relocating or traveling as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering plans and drawings to cut, bend, and place steel bars and mesh. You will also tie rebar using the appropriate techniques for various reinforcement systems and secure steel within formwork before concrete pours. Compliance with health, safety, and quality standards is essential, and you will be expected to work efficiently within large construction teams under strict deadlines.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should have a minimum of three years of experience in steel fixing or reinforcing steel, whether in New Zealand or overseas. The ability to read and work from technical drawings is crucial, along with strong physical fitness and attention to detail. Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects is preferred, and relevant trade experience or qualifications will be advantageous.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
While this role is listed in Otago, we are recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. The regions we are focusing on include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
We welcome applicants from any of these regions and encourage those willing to travel or relocate within the country to apply. The company will cover relocation costs as needed.
Benefits
We offer competitive pay ranging from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour, with a minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week. Our full-time and permanent roles come with provided personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on major infrastructure and commercial projects.
