About the Role
We are seeking an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our team at Kenepuru Hospital. This role will primarily be based in our inpatient wards, with some responsibilities involving home visits and a smaller portion dedicated to outpatient and hydrotherapy settings.
In this position, you will play a vital role in supporting patients on their journey to recovery, helping them regain their daily activities and routines. Your responsibilities will include assisting Allied Health Professionals with delegated tasks, such as facilitating patient rehabilitation sessions, practicing daily living and rehabilitation skills, issuing equipment, and leading group classes. Additionally, you will handle some administrative tasks.
We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn, excel in teamwork, and enjoy working with a diverse patient population, including older adults, individuals with neurological conditions, amputations, and orthopedic injuries. You will be supported by a friendly and experienced team.
About the Team/Service Location
Our inpatient team at Kenepuru Hospital is a close-knit group comprised of allied health, nursing, and medical professionals. We are dedicated to continuous learning and improvement in our services to benefit both our patients and our team. One of the perks of this position is free on-site parking.
The Kenepuru Inpatient Allied Health team includes over 35 staff members from various disciplines, including Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech Language Therapy, Psychology, Diversional Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, and Allied Health Assistants. Our AHAs are essential to our operations, and we work collaboratively to deliver high-quality services to our patients and their families. Our team is supportive, offering training, learning opportunities, supervision, and mentorship, while also celebrating our successes together.
