About the Role
We are seeking a creative and tech-savvy Programme Coordinator to join our dynamic Community Hub at Ōtaki Library. In this role, you will deliver engaging community programs focused on technology and digital learning. You will be confident in using or learning about various technologies, such as coding, robotics, virtual reality, and digital storytelling. Your creativity, teamwork, and passion for community engagement will be essential in driving the success of our innovative initiatives.
This part-time position requires you to work alongside another Programmes Coordinator to develop and implement enjoyable and meaningful programs for tamariki, rangatahi, and pakeke. The role involves 20 hours of work per week, specifically on the following days:
- 8 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday
- 4 hours on alternate Saturdays and Fridays

Requirements
- A strong understanding of Te Ao Māori perspectives and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and their relevance to community hubs.
- Comfortable communicating in Te Reo.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in areas such as social services, digital technologies, teaching, cultural studies, or library sciences.
- At least three years of relevant experience, or a demonstrated commitment to a community-focused environment.
- Experience in community engagement and the development, planning, and delivery of community-led initiatives.
- A genuine enjoyment of working with people.
- Confidence in using or learning digital technologies, including gaming, robotics, virtual reality, and digital storytelling.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders, including other council staff, in a collaborative and cooperative manner.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
