About the Role
As a Library Systems Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our library services. Your responsibilities will include enhancing digital access, supporting learning, and driving innovation within our library network.
You will manage our library collection management system, Spydus, ensuring that essential back-end services are maintained and that our digital environment is reliable and efficient. Additionally, you will provide training to staff on library systems, fostering digital confidence and capability across the team.
This part-time role consists of 20 hours per week, based at the Paraparaumu Library. As you support libraries throughout the district, you may need to travel to various library locations for training and support.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Relevant experience and operational knowledge of a library management system.
- Strong digital literacy skills across multiple platforms.
- The ability to teach and explain processes to customers and staff in an easily understandable manner.
- Awareness of Te Ao Māori perspectives and the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi within libraries.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive and positive attitude.
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- The ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Strong time management skills and the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A current and valid New Zealand driver’s license.
