    About the Company At Kāpiti Coast District Council, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive and dynamic environment for our team members. We take pride in our beautiful coastal location, which is ideal for both living and working. About the Role We are seeking a Team Leader Lifeguard to join our busy and energetic team. In this role, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and will work within a cyclical roster across three locations: Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Otaki Pool, and Waikanae Pool (seasonal). As a Team Leader Lifeguard, you will be responsible for leading and organizing your team. Your duties will include managing water quality, liaising with frontline staff and contractors, and conducting in-service training. You will also handle incident management and reporting, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards for supervision, health and safety, and customer service. The salary range for this position is $67,700 to $75,200 per annum. Requirements To thrive in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills: - Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and leading a team. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage confidently and kindly with the public, including during emergency situations. - A demonstrated commitment to customer service and the capability to interact with a diverse range of individuals both within and outside the organization. - A current poolside lifeguard qualification and relevant NZQA water quality management unit standards, or a willingness to obtain these alongside professional development opportunities. - A valid First Aid Certificate or a commitment to acquire one. - Flexibility to work all shifts as per the roster, including weekdays, weekends, mornings, and late shifts. The current roster allows for two consecutive days off each week, either Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday. - A current and valid New Zealand Full Driver's License.
