About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Furniture Maker to join our team in a full-time, permanent position located on the West Coast. This hands-on role involves building functional, high-quality furniture based on technical drawings and specifications. The position offers a stable work environment with guaranteed hours and the opportunity for overtime when needed.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing instructions and technical drawings to understand furniture specifications
- Selecting appropriate materials and components
- Laying out measurements, sawing, and shaping timber
- Assembling furniture carcasses and fitting drawers, doors, and hardware
- Utilizing hand tools, air tackers, staple guns, and machinery as required
- Conducting quality checks on all finished units to ensure they meet our standards
Requirements
To be successful in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- At least two years of relevant work experience in carpentry or furniture assembly
- A strong understanding of assembly and timberwork processes
- The ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
- High attention to detail and the capability to meet deadlines
- A commitment to health and safety standards
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- A clean police report with no pending charges
Benefits
We offer a competitive pay range of $30 to $35 per hour, with guaranteed hours of at least 30 hours per week and the potential for a standard workweek of 40 hours. Our workweek runs from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend calls.
