At Oriental West Limited, we are excited to announce the opening of our large-format buffet restaurant in Westgate, Auckland. Our establishment will cater to a diverse clientele, serving up to 340 guests in the dining area and 60 guests at the bar. We are committed to providing a high-quality dining experience and are looking to expand our team with dedicated professionals.
About the Role
We are seeking reliable Asian Cuisine Cooks to join our kitchen team. This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, where you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional meals to our guests.
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and assembling ingredients for menu items, ensuring that high-quality meals are prepared according to our company recipes. You will also manage food storage to avoid spoilage, monitor supplies, and ensure that food portions and presentation meet our standards. Additionally, you will maintain cleanliness in food preparation areas and collaborate with other cooks to fulfill orders efficiently.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates should possess either a Certificate in Cookery Level 4 or have a minimum of two years of professional cooking experience, preferably in buffet or hotel settings.
We are looking for individuals who can thrive in a high-volume kitchen, have knowledge of various Asian cuisines such as Filipino, Chinese, and Japanese, and are able to work weekends, holidays, and split shifts as necessary. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure while managing time effectively are essential traits we seek in our team members.
Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time position, with guaranteed hours ranging from a minimum of 30 to a maximum of 40 hours per week. The hourly rate for this role is between $28 and $30, depending on experience.
