About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist to join our Older People's Health wards (Mana Awhi) at Auckland City Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time position (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week) that offers a valuable opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist interested in enhancing their skills in rehabilitation and clinical leadership.
In this role, you will implement evidence-based practices and contribute to service development. You will also be responsible for motivating, guiding, and developing junior staff and physiotherapy students while advancing clinical practices within rehabilitation and frailty. Your duties will include:
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive geriatric assessments and rehabilitation for patients aged 65 and older, addressing various diagnoses such as amputations, orthopedic fractures, elective surgeries, neurological conditions, and falls prevention.
- Supporting equitable health outcomes by incorporating processes that reduce health disparities.
- Participating in our weekend and on-call roster.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our team consists of passionate and supportive physiotherapists committed to improving the health and quality of life of the communities we serve. About You
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Current registration as a Physiotherapist in New Zealand with an active Annual Practicing Certificate.
- A minimum of three years of post-graduate experience, including clinical experience in older persons' health.
- A flexible, proactive, and can-do attitude.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to utilize evidence-informed practices.
- Proven experience in developing working relationships within a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the ability to provide culturally safe care.
