About the Role
We are currently seeking a part-time Oncologist to join our Medical Oncology team at Timaru Hospital. This position is permanent and offers up to 0.5 FTE. As we look towards an exciting year in 2026, we are expanding our team and enhancing our model of care through funding for new medicines.
Our Medical Oncology department is focused on building a future-oriented healthcare system that embodies our core values. You will be part of a collaborative team of experienced physicians and nurses who have chosen to call Timaru home.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must hold New Zealand Vocational Registration in Medical Oncology or be eligible for it. We are looking for someone who thrives in a team environment and appreciates the diversity and autonomy that come with working in a smaller hospital setting. We encourage applications from specialists trained in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, or other healthcare systems with similar standards.

Salary Range
This role is governed by the terms and conditions of the ASMS Collective Agreement, and the salary will be determined based on relevant experience.
