About the Role We are currently seeking passionate professionals to join our Resource Consents & Monitoring Team. This is an excellent opportunity to influence sustainable development within Porirua City by applying the provisions of the Resource Management Act. We have multiple roles available that cater to varying levels of expertise, allowing for personal and professional growth. These positions go beyond mere processing and enforcement; we are looking for individuals who are proactive in engaging with stakeholders. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate: - Comprehensive experience in regulatory compliance and enforcement, ideally within local government. - A strong customer focus and the ability to manage and resolve customer complaints effectively. - A passion for developing sustainable solutions and fostering positive working relationships. - Experience in mentoring and developing others in regulatory practices. - The ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including conducting on-site inspections. - A full, unrestricted New Zealand driver's license. - Experience in applying legislation to identify breaches. In this role, you will be responsible for: - Monitoring compliance with resource consent conditions through routine and random inspections. - Building relationships with local subcontractors and builders while proactively improving silt and sediment control. - Designing and implementing education programs to engage with our development and building community. - Responding to land use complaints and taking appropriate action when necessary. - Gathering evidence to facilitate enforcement actions under the Resource Management Act.
