About the Role We are seeking a permanent full-time Freight Service Representative to join our dynamic team at the Wellington Terminal. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional freight solutions and managing customer bookings. You will coordinate the loading and unloading of freight and trucks from our ships while working closely with our drivers and shipmates to ensure a smooth transition between land and water. Your duties will include attending all vessel arrivals and departures to handle mooring lines, reporting maintenance requirements and safety issues, and ensuring that our customers receive the best service possible every time. Requirements We are looking for a reliable individual who is comfortable working independently on a shift roster, which may include weekends and public holidays. You should possess strong organizational and planning skills, along with excellent communication abilities. A quick learner of technology systems, you should be able to articulate clearly with clients over the phone. Experience in the transport industry or in a role with similar relevant skills is essential. You must have a full and clean driver's license and be able to work full-time in our freight office located in Wellington's CBD. Additionally, candidates will need to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, a medical examination, and an MOJ check. It is also required that candidates have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa and currently reside in New Zealand.
