About the Role
We are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Maternal Mental Health Perinatal Team, which serves the vibrant and culturally diverse community of South Auckland. This role primarily focuses on the assessment and treatment of pregnant women, while also interfacing with our Whakatupu Ora Infant Mental Health team. Our multidisciplinary specialists provide assessment and therapy for children aged 0 to 4 years and their caregivers, promoting improved mental health outcomes.
You will be based at our Springs Road site in East Tamaki and will engage in core clinical activities, including treatment planning and the development of culturally relevant recovery-oriented interventions. Our team values early intervention, and we are looking for someone who excels in building therapeutic relationships with caregivers and children. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a wide range of services and professionals are essential for this position.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Consultant Psychiatrist
- Experience in developing therapeutic relationships with caregivers and infants or children
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse community
Benefits
We offer a competitive remuneration package through the ASMS MECA Step 1-15, ranging from $185,380 to $267,980 NZD. We also provide assistance with visa applications and MCNZ registration if needed.
