As part of the Foodstuffs North Island co-operative, we are dedicated to providing excellent service and quality products to our customers. We are currently seeking a full-time Checkout Assistant Manager to join our vibrant team.
About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with the Department Manager and checkout supervisors to lead a team of approximately 60 team members. This is a full-time, permanent position, with hours scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday, totaling between 40 to 43 hours per week. You will be part of a larger team of 220 within our store and contribute to a cooperative network of 22,000 Foodies.
As the Checkout Assistant Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Effectively resolving customer inquiries and complaints.
- Implementing the business's returns policy during transactions.
- Liaising with department representatives to minimize delays in customer price and stock inquiries.
- Ensuring the Checkout Area is clean and organized, regularly clearing trolleys, baskets, and credits to prevent clutter and hazards.
- Sourcing all Checkout stock and equipment through approved suppliers.
- Maintaining security at the front end to ensure all products leaving the store are paid for.
- Displaying appropriate signage correctly.
- Managing the customer service desk.
- Assisting the manager in daily checkout setup and float management.
- Ensuring staff adhere to Checkout processes, procedures, and the Steps to Quality Service.
- Supporting the manager in providing thorough induction and ongoing training for team members.
