About the Role
We are seeking a creative and experienced Design and Build Consultant to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will guide clients through their new home journey, from initial concepts to the moment they receive their keys. Your strong design sensibility, interpersonal skills, and practical construction knowledge will be essential in understanding and fulfilling each client’s vision. You will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and our internal team to ensure that each build is executed smoothly, on time, and within budget.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in the building industry, particularly in residential design and sales
- Strong communication, planning, and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with design software and drafting tools is preferred but not essential
- A team player who enjoys mentoring others and working collaboratively across functions
- A solid understanding of New Zealand building regulations and council consent processes
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and focused on client satisfaction
- Availability to work one weekend day
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
- Leading concept design, planning, and pricing discussions
- Preparing client concept drawings and specifications, while supporting the working drawing process
- Identifying land opportunities for clients and assisting with show home management and design
- Mentoring junior team members and supporting their professional development
- Collaborating with contractors, developers, and internal teams
- Keeping up-to-date with building legislation, market trends, and industry best practices
- Contributing to sales, marketing, and client presentation initiatives
- Accurately documenting work, maintaining client files, and ensuring compliance with internal systems
