Description
About the Company
At BestStart Mt Eden, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. Our philosophy emphasizes learning through nature, and we strive to create meaningful experiences that foster a deep connection to the environment. Our 'Meadow' serves as a unique outdoor learning space in the heart of central Auckland, allowing children to explore, create, and grow in a natural setting.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and inspiring Head Teacher to lead our 2-5's Room. In this position, you will leverage your leadership and curriculum expertise to design and implement enriching learning experiences that bring our local curriculum to life. You will utilize the environment as an integral part of the learning process, develop thoughtful curriculum plans, and support your team with strong communication and a nurturing teaching style.
At BestStart Mt Eden, we prioritize learning through nature. Our outdoor space includes a vegetable garden, mud pit, fruit trees, compost area, and even a fire pit for winter activities. Here, tamariki can engage in hands-on learning by making mud pies, foraging for bugs, and helping in the garden, all while developing a care for the earth and a connection to Papatūānuku, our Māori earth mother.
Our team is committed to fostering creativity, independence, and resilience in our children through meaningful experiences and a rich, nature-based environment.
