About the Role
As a Construction Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our various projects across the country. We are seeking organized individuals who take pride in their work and are motivated by results. Flexibility in work locations is preferred, as you may be required to assist with projects nationwide.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing tasks that align with your skills and capabilities to support the business.
- Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, or tasks to ensure we meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes, and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture entry and installing hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patches using appropriate tools.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms with various tools and equipment.
- Performing general laboring duties, including cleaning construction sites as directed by managers.
- Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around building sites.
- Completing any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferable, but not essential.
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic are essential.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a hardworking attitude.
Benefits
We offer a competitive pay range of $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience. A minimum of 30 hours of work is guaranteed each week, and this role is permanent and full-time.
Location
You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
