About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our Environmental Services Department at Ashburton Hospital. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours or days, as you will primarily be covering for sick leave and annual leave. Flexibility is essential, as you will need to be available for night shifts and public holidays.

As part of a small, fast-paced team, you will play an integral role in ensuring our hospital facilities are kept to a high standard throughout the year.
The starting salary for this position is $27.80 per hour, based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement. We also offer time and a half for weekend shifts and double time on public holidays.
You will be responsible for:
- Completing all cleaning tasks to a high standard
- Ensuring daily schedules and task lists are completed within the set time frame
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Matching service requirements to clinical needs
- Maintaining equipment and operating it according to specifications
- Utilizing the correct chemicals and dilutions for cleaning

Requirements
- A high level of patient confidentiality
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good time management skills
- Experience as a cleaner, particularly within a healthcare setting, is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided to all new staff.
