About the Role We are looking for a skilled Excavator Operator to manage and operate our machinery on earthworks, land development, and civil infrastructure sites throughout the Auckland region. This role does not require any work outside of Auckland, allowing you to remain close to home. We seek reliable and versatile individuals who can work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: - A minimum of three years of practical experience operating excavators. - The ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and comply with our drug and alcohol policy. - A valid driver’s license. - The capability to work in various weather conditions and be exposed to the elements. - A willingness to work on Saturdays when needed. - Mechanical acumen. - A positive work attitude and the ability to work unsupervised. - An understanding of safe work practices related to earthworks and civil environments. - The ability to make efficient decisions and a desire to assist others or learn new skills. - Knowledge of or the ability to learn operations beyond general duties. - A willingness to assist with maintenance and cleanup tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor or Manager. - The ability to identify potential hazards in and around the work area. This role may also involve experience with erosion and sediment control measures, shear key earthworks, bulk earthworks, trenching, and trimming to final surface levels.
