About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled operator to manage and operate our machines on various earthworks, land development, and civil infrastructure sites located exclusively within the Auckland region. This role requires a reliable and versatile individual who can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating machinery on earthworks and civil sites
- Identifying and managing potential hazards in the work area
- Assisting with maintenance and clean-up as directed by the Site Supervisor or Manager
- Occasionally working on erosion and sediment control measures, bulk earthworks, trenching, and surface level trimming
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following:
- A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in machine operation or earthmoving
- The ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, and compliance with our drug and alcohol policy
- A valid driver's license
- Capability to work in various weather conditions and be exposed to the elements
- Willingness to work on Saturdays
- Mechanical aptitude and a positive work attitude
- Understanding of safe work practices in an earthworks or civil environment
- Strong decision-making skills and a willingness to assist others
- A desire to learn and expand knowledge in operations beyond general duties
