About the Role We are currently seeking a permanent, part-time Clinical Psychologist for our Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMH) at Hutt Hospital. This role offers 0.8 full-time equivalent (32 hours per week) with a competitive salary ranging from $105,000 to $120,000, depending on experience. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment that values professional development, job security, and workplace wellness programs. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing high-quality assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for clients with a wide range of diagnoses and complex co-morbidities, primarily in community settings such as private homes and facilities. - Collaborating with other multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive support and services, which may include case consultation, staff training and supervision, leadership, service development activities, and research and evaluation. About the Team/Service/Location The OPMH service is primarily community-based, with access to six inpatient beds at Hutt Hospital. We specialize in assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for individuals experiencing recent onset functional mental health issues or dementia with significant behavioral and psychological symptoms (BPSD). Our approach is centered around case management and liaison services, working in partnership with patients, their whanau, General Practitioners, and community support networks to achieve optimal health outcomes. We are looking for a highly motivated Clinical Psychologist with a strong interest in working with older adults. Ideally, candidates will have experience in a high-functioning, collegial, interdisciplinary team. While the role is set at 0.8 FTE, there is flexibility in negotiating hours. About You To be considered for this position, you will need the following qualifications and attributes: - A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or equivalent. - Registration with the New Zealand Psychologist Board, with a Clinical Psychology Vocational Scope of Practice. - A current annual practicing certificate. - A solid understanding of psychopathology and psychological theories. - Experience in working with inpatient and/or community older adult mental health services and/or neuropsychology is preferred, but not essential. - A good sense of humor, along with a collaborative and flexible working style. - A current driver’s license.
