About the Role
We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Utility Arborist Apprentice. In this role, you will report to the Vegetation Supervisor and be responsible for delivering professional vegetation control services for both the Horizon Energy network and external third-party customers. A key aspect of your role will be to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with our customers, ensuring they view Horizon Networks as their preferred supplier through excellent customer service and technical support.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Actively working towards a formal qualification in Arboriculture or a National Certificate in Arboriculture Level 3, along with Utility Arboriculture unit standards.
- Familiarity with NZQA Chainsaw Unit Standards 6916 and 6917.
- A current unrestricted Manual NZ Driver's Licence, including heavy traffic (Class 2) is preferred but not essential.
- An understanding of health and safety procedures, with any prior experience in tree work being advantageous.
- Knowledge of tree or utilities regulations is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- A customer-focused approach and a strong work ethic.
