About the Role
We are currently seeking an energetic and motivated Team Leader to join our Intensive Support Service for Tamariki in Whanganui. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team that assists young people in living as independently as possible. Your focus will be on providing a safe environment where they can build confidence, establish friendships, and engage with the community.
The position involves a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings, so flexibility in your schedule is essential to effectively support your team across different times.
What does the role involve?
As a Team Leader, your primary responsibility will be to assist our Tamariki with disabilities in achieving greater independence while also leading and motivating your team. Your daily activities may include:
- Organizing meaningful and purposeful activities both at home and in the community, aimed at maximizing independence and involving Whanau
- Managing household tasks such as meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal care
- Collaborating with your team to implement personal support plans consistently, fostering effective teamwork and communication
- Creating a warm and nurturing living environment that welcomes ideas and feedback, ensuring each individual is supported in reaching their personal goals

What are we looking for?
We are seeking candidates who possess:
- Relevant caregiving experience with youth and young adults
- Leadership experience or a genuine desire to develop leadership skills
- The ability to adapt your leadership style to meet the diverse learning needs of individuals
- A warm, calm, and friendly personality, along with a passion for helping others achieve positive outcomes
- A full NZ driver's license and the capability to transport passengers safely in our disability vans
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from various backgrounds and have different needs and interests
