We value excellence in all aspects of our work. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join our Medical Specialties and Neurosciences team at Christchurch Hospital. This part-time, permanent position entails working 44 hours per fortnight (0.55 FTE), with the possibility of increasing to a full-time equivalent. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across specialty areas including oncology/haematology, gastroenterology, and general medical services. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to assess and manage a variety of cases in neurology, neurosurgery, acute assessment, acute stroke, vascular, cardiology, and nephrology. You will also play a key role in the education and training of 4th-year undergraduate students and junior rotational staff. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and confident in their clinical practice, with a collaborative communication style. Additionally, participation in weekend and on-call rosters will be part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities - Conduct expert assessments, implement appropriate interventions, and provide advice or referrals to other services. - Supervise and mentor rotational staff and final-year physiotherapy students. - Assist in facilitating service improvements. About You We are looking for candidates who possess: - Previous experience in oncology/haematology (preferred). - A broad range of experience, ideally including areas such as respiratory, neurology, and general medicine. - The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. - Enthusiasm and confidence in sharing knowledge within the discipline. - A working knowledge of quality improvement processes. - Competency or a commitment to learning about te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori.
