    Description

About the Company Tradestaff Global is excited to announce an opportunity for skilled tradespeople to work at McMurdo Station in Antarctica during the Summer of 2025/26. This unique role offers the chance to experience one of the most isolated and breathtaking locations in the world. About the Role We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified professionals in various trades, including commercial plumbers, HVAC technicians, duct installers, commercial electricians, pipe welders, pipe fitters, and qualified commercial carpenters/builders. Deployments are expected to occur from approximately October 2025 through March 2026. Please note that these roles require individuals who are prepared for challenging conditions, as you will be staying for extended periods. What's on Offer? We provide flights from any major New Zealand airport, along with shared accommodation, food, and travel insurance. Employment will be on a contract basis, with a competitive pay structure in New Zealand dollars, based on 54 hours of work per week, paid on a fortnightly basis. We supply all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE). While the work is demanding, the benefits include excellent pay, the opportunity to save money while working away, invaluable experience, and the chance to forge lifelong connections. If you have ever dreamed of working in Antarctica, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. Requirements Candidates must meet the following criteria: - Only New Zealand and U.S. citizens with valid passports and currently residing in New Zealand are eligible to apply due to travel restrictions. - Vaccination against flu, Tdap, and MMR is required. - These positions are not 'fly in, fly out' (FIFO). You should be prepared for extended stays on the ice, with long hours expected, typically six days a week. - Start dates are approximate and contingent upon passing medical and dental checks, obtaining security clearance, adhering to your notice period, and ice flight availability. - Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. - A Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record are mandatory. - The application process can be lengthy, so applicants should be patient and prepared to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental examinations. We will cover the costs of tests and flights for those traveling from outside the Bay of Plenty. What Now? To express your interest, please apply online with an updated CV that highlights your commercial construction skills and experience, including the types of projects you have worked on. If your initial application is successful, we will reach out with further details regarding the interview and verification process. Candidates should be IT literate, possess great attention to detail, follow instructions closely, and manage complex paperwork effectively. Benefits This is an extraordinary opportunity to work in a remarkable environment while gaining valuable experience. We are committed to offering a diverse range of roles within the construction industry, including positions for carpenters, machine operators, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, duct installers, pipefitters, welders, and many others. We encourage you to explore current opportunities at our website, www.tradestaffglobal.com, and take the first step toward this adventure. We look forward to receiving your online application and wish you the best of luck in this process!
