About the Role
We are currently seeking a WTR Operator to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our civil construction and road projects by operating a variety of heavy machinery essential for earthworks. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that tasks such as excavation, grading, compaction, and material movement are carried out safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Operating machinery with Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers endorsements on civil construction sites.
- Performing tasks including excavation, trenching, backfilling, grading, leveling, and compacting.
- Loading and unloading materials as needed.
- Managing traffic on site to ensure safety and compliance.
- Conducting pre-start checks and basic maintenance on assigned machinery.
- Adhering strictly to site-specific safety plans and all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating effectively with site foremen, civil laborers, and other team members.
- Following project plans, levels, and instructions accurately.
- Maintaining a tidy and organized work area.
- Reporting any machinery faults or maintenance requirements promptly.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current and valid W (Wheels), T (Tracks), and R (Rollers) endorsements on your New Zealand Driver's License.
- Proven experience operating relevant WTR machinery in civil construction or road environments.
- A strong understanding of on-site health and safety practices.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Physical fitness for getting in and out of machinery and assisting with site tasks when needed.
- A valid New Zealand Driver's License.
Bonus Points for:
- Experience with GPS-guided machinery.
- Additional heavy vehicle licenses (Class 2, 4, and 5).
