Our client specializes in supplying and distributing a variety of materials and services, and they are now looking to expand their team in Hornby by adding an experienced Dispatcher.
About the Role
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of transport logistics. We are looking for someone with a solid background in transport who understands the daily challenges of transport operations.
The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and scheduling daily loads to ensure timely delivery
- Communicating effectively with drivers and subcontractors regarding delivery plans
- Liaising with relevant parties to confirm and manage delivery bookings
- Maintaining accurate records by updating dashboards with bookings, transfers, and related data
- Responding to customer inquiries and providing timely shipping updates and estimated times of arrival
- Proactively addressing and resolving transportation delays or operational issues
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience as a dispatcher within the transport industry
- Good geographical knowledge of New Zealand
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong team collaboration skills essential for daily operations
- Availability for an immediate start and long-term commitment
