About the Role We are currently seeking a Housekeeper for a permanent part-time position at Nelson Hospital. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our hospital operates smoothly and efficiently. Your contributions will help create a safe and comfortable environment for our patients and their families, as well as for our dedicated staff. As a Housekeeper, your responsibilities will include thorough cleaning of wards, operating theatres, public areas, and offices. You will also assist with changing beds, handling laundry, and collecting rubbish. In addition, you may perform tea rounds and have opportunities for patient interaction while supporting our nursing and orderly staff. This position offers competitive hourly rates, with additional penal rates for evening shifts (after 8:00 PM) and weekend work. Employees will also receive extra compensation or time off for shifts on public holidays. The role requires you to work 60 hours per fortnight (0.75 FTE) on a schedule of Monday to Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday to Friday from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Please note that there is no on-call requirement. About the Team/Service/Location You will be joining a dedicated team of nearly 70 professionals who prioritize teamwork and are focused on achieving the best possible health outcomes for our patients. For more information about living and working in Nelson, please visit our website. About You The ideal candidate for the Housekeeper position will possess experience in cleaning or customer service. However, we also welcome applicants who may not have direct experience but have a genuine interest in understanding hospital operations.
