Project Manager, Nelson Hospital, Fixed Term Full-time

About the Role
In the position of Project Manager, you will collaborate with members of the executive and clinical teams to implement various facility development projects aimed at supporting clinical care in anticipation of the proposed redevelopment of Nelson Hospital. Your role will involve providing leadership, systems, resources, and expertise to ensure the successful coordination and management of these projects.
You will be responsible for ensuring sound program and project management practices are in place, with an emphasis on the following:
- Projects that are commercially and clinically sound
- Effective management of professional services teams and contractors
- Maintenance of up-to-date project plans that are baseline tracked
- Delivery within approved fiscal budgets
- High-quality project and program reporting
- Clear identification of dependencies, critical paths, cross-linkages, and constraints between projects, resources, and organizational implementations
This is a fixed-term role for 24 months, requiring 80 hours of work per fortnight (1.0 FTE) between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:30 PM.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our dedicated team consists of a Programme Manager, Project Coordinator, and the currently vacant Project Manager role. We oversee the majority of facility upgrade projects across the District, with a focus on clinical infrastructure projects. About You
To excel in the Project Manager role, you should have a proven track record in successfully leading and managing complex projects, preferably within a clinical or multifaceted setting. Key qualifications include:
- Solid knowledge and experience in risk management, project cost control, contract and subcontractor management, and financial management of projects
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, along with sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
- The ability to influence authentically, think strategically, and build and maintain effective relationships at all levels
Candidates must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of application.
