About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at Tapawera Area School in Tasman. In this Permanent Part-Time position, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient receiving, reheating, dispatching, and preparation of meals in accordance with the Ministry of Education contract. This opportunity allows you to lead daily operations and uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality during the educational terms.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Administration Support: Leading the daily coordination of delivery schedules, receiving stock, and managing special diet requirements.
Operational Activities: Assisting the Area Manager with daily operational tasks and maintaining comprehensive administrative records.
Financial Transactions: Identifying supplier issues, assisting with month-end procedures, and preparing necessary paperwork for audits.
Team Leadership: Communicating effectively, leading and collaborating within a team, and providing exceptional customer service.
System Proficiency: Developing proficiency in Compass Group systems for efficient record keeping and operations.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess:
Experience: Proven experience in a kitchen or food manufacturing environment.
Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
Team Player: A flexible approach, excellent communication skills, and the capability to lead a team.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using IT systems for ordering and stock management.
Physical Fitness: The ability to lift and pack raw ingredients and finished products, ensuring physical readiness for the job.
