About the Role
We are currently seeking Support Workers to join our team in Tawa. This role involves assisting individuals in developing their independence and acquiring essential skills for daily living. Responsibilities may include helping with public transportation, employment, financial management, and meal preparation. Depending on the specific needs of the individuals we support, tasks may also include shopping, cleaning, personal care, and medication administration.
We offer rostered shifts, and candidates must be available to work during the daytime, evenings, overnight, and on weekends.
Requirements
While prior experience in the health and disability sector is not necessary, a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker and a positive attitude are highly valued. We provide full training and orientation for individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Candidates must have:
- Availability for flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepovers
- Proficiency in using computers and tablets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Physical fitness to provide necessary support
- A full New Zealand driver’s license or a willingness to work towards obtaining one
Benefits
We offer a competitive hourly wage ranging from $23.84 to $29.10, depending on relevant qualifications, with opportunities to earn more as you advance your certification. IDEA Services will support you in completing the Level 2, 3, and 4 Certificates in Health and Wellbeing.
