Ritchies is one of New Zealand’s largest and most trusted passenger transport providers. As we expand into Māngere, we are excited to introduce a new, sustainable fleet that will enhance our service offerings.
About the Role
We are launching two new depots in Māngere and are seeking 250 new drivers to join us on this exciting journey. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in driving, even if you have no prior experience. If you possess a full Class 1 licence that you have held for at least two years, we will provide the necessary training to prepare you for this new role.
In this position, you will work full-time on urban public transport routes across South Auckland. You will earn while you learn, with comprehensive training provided to help you obtain your Class 2 licence and Passenger (P) endorsement. Training typically takes between 2 to 8 weeks, and we conduct onboarding sessions every two weeks, offering rolling start dates as we build our new team over the coming months.
Please note that this role requires flexibility to work a 6-day roster from Monday to Sunday, with shifts beginning as early as 4 AM and concluding as late as 2 AM. We understand that these hours may not suit everyone, so we encourage applicants to consider their availability before applying.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for candidates who may currently be working in retail, warehousing, hospitality, or other fields and are eager to transition to a more stable and reliable career. Ideal candidates will meet the following criteria:
- Hold a full clean New Zealand Class 1 licence for a minimum of two years
- Have a positive attitude and a clean driving record
- Possess good communication skills and enjoy interacting with others
- Be ready for a positive change and a solid career opportunity
