We are currently looking to expand our team by hiring experienced and dependable Truck Drivers in Auckland. About the Role We are seeking full-time, permanent Truck Drivers to join our team. The position offers a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that includes working from Monday to Sunday, with one day off. Weekend shifts may be required based on business needs. The hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $28 to $33, depending on your experience. To be considered for this role, you must hold a clean Class 4 or 5 New Zealand driving license, or an overseas equivalent. Additionally, a Level 3 qualification or at least one year of truck driving experience is necessary. Candidates must also pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and be able to obtain a Forklift License and Dangerous Goods License within six months of employment. Requirements - A Level 3 Certificate or one year of truck driving experience is required. - A clean Class 4 or 5 Driver's License or an overseas equivalent is essential. - Candidates must be physically fit and capable of self-loading. - Ability to work in various weather conditions. - Strong commitment to health and safety practices. - Excellent attention to detail, with a hardworking and pleasant demeanor. - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and maintain composure under pressure. - Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Basic auto electrical knowledge is preferred. - Must pass a police clearance. Job Duties As a Truck Driver, your responsibilities will include: - Driving Class 4 and 5 trucks, and if required, Class 2 trucks. - Maneuvering vehicles for loading and unloading. - Loading and unloading vehicles using appropriate lifting and tipping devices. - Observing safety protocols during loading and unloading operations. - Conducting regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure safe driving conditions. - Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring proper weight distribution. - Ensuring that goods are securely stowed and covered to prevent loss and damage. - Verifying loading documents, checking the condition of goods, and obtaining delivery certifications. - Keeping logbook records current and accurate. - Reporting any incidents that occur during operations. - Ensuring Road User Charges (RUC), vehicle registration, and Certificates of Fitness (COF) are up to date. - Regularly inspecting and maintaining the company vehicle for safe operations. - Driving vehicle combinations in accordance with regulations and company procedures. - Ensuring all required load documentation is available for inspection and accompanies freight upon delivery. - Adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
