About the Role
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Traffic Controllers (TC) and Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) workers. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direction to road users and maintaining a safe working environment during various roadworks throughout Dunedin.
To excel in this position, you must be resilient and able to work in all weather conditions. Strong communication skills and the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks are essential. We offer comprehensive on-the-job training and the opportunity to become a certified TC/TTM worker through a one-day course, with dates to be confirmed.
Your duties will include:
- Collaborating with team members to manage the flow of road user traffic
- Engaging with the public to explain the nature of the roadworks
- Directing vehicle traffic and pedestrians safely around work sites
- Performing labor tasks, including setting up road signage, cones, and vehicle barriers
- Contributing to daily work in progress meetings and maintaining a safe workplace
- Operating with professionalism and integrity at all times
Requirements
We are looking for both new and experienced TC/TTM workers who are committed to their professional development and interested in pursuing higher certifications such as TMO and STMS.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Motivation and reliability, with strong verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Flexibility with shift start times and the ability to work at various locations across Dunedin
- A clean Restricted or Full Class 1 Driver’s License and personal transport
