About the Role We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Education (ECE) teacher who is passionate about mentoring and nurturing the next generation of ECE professionals. This full-time, permanent position is based at our Manawatu campus, where you will be teaching in our Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) program and related courses. In this role, you will inspire and support students on their journey toward becoming registered teachers. You will engage with them in meaningful ways, motivating them to achieve their qualifications, which is the first step in their professional ambitions. Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for: - Developing and delivering learning materials at a degree level while leading and facilitating student learning. - Maintaining accurate academic and practicum placement records, as well as conducting Children Act checks to meet faculty and teaching council requirements, ensuring high-quality standards. - Proactively developing and maintaining strong relationships with industry stakeholders. - Conducting assessments within a placement or practicum environment. - Providing pastoral and academic support to students, tracking their progress and offering assistance as needed. - Engaging in or showing interest in research initiatives. - Supporting program marketing initiatives by showcasing career opportunities and facilitating student entry into the program. Requirements We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills: - Current Teacher Registration. - Experience in teaching within an early childhood setting and/or tertiary teaching experience in Early Childhood education. - A completed Master's qualification, or a commitment to completing this degree. - Strong team player qualities. - A solution-focused and process-driven mindset. - Proven relationship management skills. - The ability to adjust communication styles for different audiences. - High-level negotiation skills with a proven ability to reach agreements. - Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities amidst competing demands. - The ability to connect long-term visions and strategies with current activities. - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. - A valid New Zealand full driver’s license.
