About the Role We are currently seeking a skilled Principal Design Manager to join our expanding Water Infrastructure team in Auckland. In this position, you will work on a range of significant projects, including major water and wastewater treatment plants. You will play a crucial role in reviewing the technical quality of engineering and design tasks while supporting Project Managers to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Your Responsibilities In this role, you will manage our Engineering and Design teams, ensuring their efficient and effective performance. Your responsibilities will include: - Team Management: Oversee the Engineering and Design teams to ensure timely project delivery and high performance. - Coordination: Coordinate resources for engineering, utilities, drawings, mapping, and cost estimation. You will also verify processes and outputs to maintain our high standards. - Project Tracking: Manage engineering and design processes and deliverables, collaborating with technical leads and project teams to achieve successful outcomes. About You We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with a proven track record in successfully delivering stormwater, water, and wastewater projects. Key areas of expertise should include treatment plants, pressure/rising mains, trenchless techniques, gravity pipelines (sewer and stormwater), pump stations, and reservoirs. The ideal candidate will bring: - Leadership: The ability to lead cohesive teams on challenging projects. - Design Management: Experience with complex infrastructure, design codes, standards, and practices. - Technical Expertise: A strong background in civil engineering, specifically in stormwater, water, and wastewater projects including treatment plants, mains, pipelines, pump stations, and reservoirs. - Qualifications: A degree in Civil Engineering; CPEng certification is preferred. - Client Relationship Management: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
