About the Role
We are currently seeking a Duty Manager to join our team. This is a significant role that contributes to the daily operations of the Mosgiel Tavern. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to responsible alcohol licensing while confidently managing various aspects of the bar and customer service.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Greeting customers warmly and serving them in a friendly and timely manner.
- Maintaining an adequate supply of clean glassware and ensuring tables are clean and tidy.
- Keeping customer areas organized and in line with our establishment’s standards.
- Communicating bar supply shortages to the Bar Manager and ensuring compliance with liquor licensing laws.
- Ensuring that service is consistently available at the bar.
- Reporting any issues with customers or equipment to the Bar Manager and following their guidance.
- Safeguarding the property and cash of the business at all times.
- Performing additional duties as reasonably requested by the employer.
Requirements
This is not an entry-level position, and we are looking for candidates with a minimum of one year of relevant work experience. Additionally, you should meet the following qualifications:
- Hold a valid Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ).
- Have experience supervising a gaming room while adhering to harm minimization requirements (full training will be provided).
- Comply with the legal Manager requirements set forth in the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
- Be capable of working in both bar and restaurant areas.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work weekdays, nights, and weekends on a rostered basis.
- Exhibit a mature and positive outlook.
- Possess exceptional people skills and a strong customer service orientation.
- Be honest, reliable, and passionate about the hospitality industry.
