About the Role
We are currently seeking a casual general radiologist to join our department at Taranaki Base Hospital. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team that includes radiologists and a wider multidisciplinary team. Our goal is to provide diagnostic excellence not only for the Taranaki community but also for the wider New Zealand population through our advanced data and digital connectivity.
Our department offers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- General X-ray
- CT
- MRI
- Interventional work
- Angiography
- Ultrasound
- Nuclear Medicine
- Fluoroscopy
All modalities are state-of-the-art, with significant upgrades to CT, MRI, and ultrasound completed in 2022. We utilize an integrated regional RIS/PACS system.

About You
We are looking for candidates with essential skills in general plain film, ultrasound, CT, and MRI reporting. Desirable qualifications may include a sub-specialty interest in areas such as musculoskeletal MRI, general interventional radiology (excluding intracranial work), CT colonography, cardiac CT, or nuclear medicine.
Candidates should ideally hold vocational registration from the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for this registration based on recognized post-graduate qualifications from another country. To assess your eligibility for registration, please refer to the MCNZ website's self-assessment tool.
