About the Role
We are currently seeking a Health Centre Manager for the Christchurch Men's Prison. This is a statutory position primarily responsible for ensuring the provision of healthcare and treatment for those in our care. The Health Centre Manager will oversee daily operations, clinical governance activities, and resource management of health services within the prison.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the competence and compliance of health center staff, monitoring quality improvement initiatives, and leading the implementation of new policies. As part of a national network of health leaders, you will contribute to the advancement of best practices and continuous improvement. Additionally, as a member of the regional Pae Ora leadership team, you will play a crucial role in achieving broader health and organizational priorities.
About You
We are looking for a New Zealand registered nurse with extensive leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with a relevant postgraduate qualification. You should possess a growth mindset and be adept at creating a work environment that values diversity and innovation. Strong communication skills, resilience, and organizational abilities are essential as you develop and maintain innovative health services in collaboration with custodial services.
You will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of the factors that contribute to inequities in health outcomes and a commitment to addressing these issues. Your practice should reflect your dedication to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi and an appreciation for te ao Māori.
Salary
The salary range for this position at the large prison site, effective from July 1, 2025, is between $165,565 and $178,273. Appointment and remuneration will be determined based on your skills and relevant experience.
