About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Adult and Older People Mental Health and Addiction Service. This permanent, full-time position is based at Manaia House in Whangarei and will require travel across Te Tai Tokerau.
In this role, you will:
- Provide leadership and operational management in collaboration with senior management and clinical leadership.
- Enable the service to deliver high-quality, cost-effective person-centered care that aligns with our organizational objectives.
- Ensure that service targets and KPIs are met, resulting in positive outcomes for tangata whaiora.
As you support teams across Te Tai Tokerau, your ability to travel throughout the region will be essential.
About the Team/Service/Location
This position reports to the General Manager of Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHAS) and is a vital part of the leadership team within MHAS.

About You
We are looking for a candidate with excellent relationship-building, communication, and collaboration skills. You should possess a strong understanding of change management and conflict resolution. A background in effectively delivering healthcare services as a senior manager in a complex healthcare environment is essential, including experience in staff management, financial management, and change management.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse workforce and enhance your knowledge and skills within the healthcare setting.
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or evidence of working towards one.
- A current and full New Zealand driver’s license.
- An appropriate clinical qualification and project management experience is preferred.
