About the Role We are currently seeking a Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, and Risk Manager at Whangarei Hospital. In this permanent, full-time position, you will play a crucial role in leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of Te Tai Tokerau's Annual Quality, Safety, and Risk Plan. This plan will align with local, regional, and national strategies in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer. You will foster a culture of quality improvement by supporting the training of quality champions and overseeing the operational functions associated with managing staff within the Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, and Risk Directorate. This role involves close collaboration with other Te Whatu Ora hospitals, the Health Quality and Safety Commission (HQSC), and senior management, while also managing the organization-wide internal audit process to identify areas for quality improvement. About the Team/Service/Location The Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Directorate (PSQID) holds organizational oversight and collaborates with various services to identify risks and guide quality improvements aimed at enhancing patient safety. Our team ensures that the quality assurance and safety of patient care are adequately measured, reported, and monitored, enabling early identification of issues and assessments of the impacts of quality improvement initiatives. About You We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to manage a cross-departmental team of 15 to 17 professionals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading diverse teams and the ability to inspire, motivate, and achieve results in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment. Key qualifications include: - A degree-level tertiary qualification and a relevant health or management qualification - 3 to 5 years of senior healthcare advisory or management experience - Proven experience in establishing and managing complex stakeholder interactions with senior functional management and leadership to secure commitment and support for program objectives - Exceptional networking and relationship management skills - A current New Zealand driver's license Benefits At Health New Zealand, we embrace a diverse and inclusive workforce that allows us to better understand and serve our community.
