    About the Company At Kāpiti Coast District Council, we are dedicated to fostering a community-focused environment where our team members can thrive. We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our team of Team Leader Lifeguards. About the Role As a Team Leader Lifeguard, you will be part of a dynamic group reporting to the Operations Manager. Your role will involve working on a cyclical roster across our pools, including the Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Otaki Pool, and Waikanae Pool, depending on the season. In this position, you will lead and organize your team while managing water quality and liaising with our frontline staff and contractors. You will also conduct in-service training, manage and report on incidents, and ensure that our facilities uphold the highest standards in supervision, health and safety, and customer service. The salary range for this role is between $67,700 and $75,200 per annum, pro-rata. Requirements To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who ideally meet the following criteria: - A current poolside lifeguard qualification and relevant NZQA water quality management unit standards. Expired qualifications may be considered, but renewal will be required. - A current NZ Certificate in Senior Lifeguard Level 3 or relevant experience as a Senior Lifeguard, with a commitment to working towards Level 4. - A valid First Aid Certificate. - Skills and experience in aquatic plant operation and poolside supervision. - The ability to interact with the public in a confident, calm, and friendly manner, especially in emergency situations. - Flexibility to work all shifts of the roster, including weekdays, weekends, day, and late shifts. - Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and a willingness to engage with a diverse range of individuals both within and outside the organization. - A current and valid New Zealand Full Driver’s License.
