    About the Company At Extrastaff Limited, we are a growing business that values quality workmanship and integrity. We are currently seeking experienced Carpenters to join our team. Our ideal candidates are organized, trustworthy, and motivated individuals who take pride in their work. About the Role As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include shaping and cutting materials, installing structures, and performing repairs. You may be required to travel across the country to assist with our projects, so flexibility regarding work locations is essential. Key responsibilities include: - Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws. - Following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment. - Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. - Installing structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, flooring, trim, or hardware, using carpentry tools. - Verifying the trueness of structures using plumb bobs and levels. - Building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, and other wooden fixtures. - Selecting and ordering lumber or other materials as needed. - Assembling and fastening materials to create frameworks or props. - Removing damaged or defective parts and performing necessary repairs or replacements. - Maintaining records and documenting actions, including progress reports. - Inspecting various structures and finishes for damage. - Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembly work at heights. - Finishing surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in buildings. - Studying drawings and creating forming shutters for concrete work. - Arranging for subcontractors to handle specialized areas, such as heating or electrical work. - Covering subfloors with building paper and laying hardwood or other types of flooring. - Filling defects in plaster and applying decorative paneling. - Preparing cost estimates for clients or employers. - Handling hazardous materials safely. - Performing minor plumbing, welding, or concrete mixing tasks. - Completing any other duties as assigned. Requirements To qualify for this role, you should have: - A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in carpentry or a relevant qualification. - A friendly demeanor with excellent time management and work ethic. - Strong time management skills. - A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry. - A solid understanding of health and safety procedures. - Reliability and a strong work ethic. Benefits - Competitive pay ranging from $30.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience. - A guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week. - Opportunity for permanent and full-time employment. Location This role primarily requires work in Auckland, Waikato, Northland, Nelson, Canterbury, and Otago.
