About the Role
We are offering a 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing meaningful experiences for our customers across New Zealand. You will work across the entire technology stack, take ownership of technical outcomes, and drive innovation within a platform that is integral to the daily lives of Kiwis.
In this position, you can expect to:
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Identify and address challenges within our processes and practices.
- Seek opportunities to implement new, innovative technologies that address our business needs.
- Design, estimate, and plan work for your squad.
- Write code and unit tests to meet your squad's objectives.
- Maintain technical ownership and accountability for projects within your squad.
- Conduct peer reviews of code written by fellow developers.
- Build, test, release, and monitor the code you deploy to the production environment.
- Document your work to facilitate future maintenance and development efforts.
- Participate in discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing the Trade Me codebase and technical design.
What You Will Bring to Our Team
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Senior-level experience in fullstack development, with strong proficiency in C# (.NET) and front-end technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, and/or Angular.
- A deep understanding of relational databases and SQL, ideally with Microsoft SQL Server experience, along with solid knowledge of object-oriented design patterns and SOLID principles.
- A proven record of technical ownership and accountability for significant projects.
- A natural aptitude for mentorship, with a genuine desire to help teammates grow and excel.
- An organized and self-directed approach, combined with a proactive mindset to tackle challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen attention to detail and a commitment to crafting elegant, testable code that endures.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, allowing you to serve as a trusted advisor to your squad and stakeholders.
