About the Role
We are looking for a talented developer to play a crucial role in bringing our pan Trade Me SEO initiatives to fruition. In this position, you will help enhance our visibility, attract targeted traffic, and strengthen Trade Me's reputation as the first choice for Kiwis.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Proactively define and refine the tasks necessary for your squad.
- Estimate and plan the work that has been agreed upon by the squad.
- Write code and unit tests to achieve your squad's objectives.
- Conduct peer reviews and test code written by fellow developers.
- Document your work to ensure maintainability and facilitate future development.
- Engage in discussions and initiatives aimed at improving the Trade Me code base and technical design.
What You Will Bring to Our Team
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of experience in similar development roles.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#, with familiarity in similar programming languages.
- Ideally, experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, or similar.
- A solid understanding of relational databases and SQL, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns and their appropriate applications.
- An appreciation for SOLID principles, elegant and testable code, particularly in a dynamic codebase with a history.
- Desirable experience in SEO or GEO-specific practices.
- A collaborative spirit with a positive attitude and a willingness to work with others.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort with self-directed work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, with a commitment to enhancing our web experience for speed, reliability, and maintainability.
- A self-motivated approach, adaptability, and a readiness to tackle challenges.
