About the Company
At NZCL, we are committed to supporting individuals with disabilities throughout New Zealand. Our Disability Support Services are built on the belief that everyone deserves to lead a fulfilling life, enjoy equal opportunities, and pursue their aspirations. We strive to create an inclusive and empowering environment for those we serve.
About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as full-time Support Workers in our Masterton Residential Services. In this vital role, you will contribute to creating a safe environment where individuals can gain confidence, develop new skills, and foster friendships with peers while engaging with the community.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of daily activities. You will assist individuals in pursuing their interests, which may include swimming, personal care, meal preparation, household management, and teaching essential life skills. This role requires flexibility, as our team works various shifts to provide 24/7 support, with the potential for additional sleepover payments in specific rosters.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and possess kindness and understanding. While previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly with disabilities and challenging behaviors, it is not essential. A full driver’s license is necessary for this position.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate initiative, energy, and an ability to think creatively in helping individuals achieve their goals. Respect for diverse perspectives and lifestyles is crucial, as the individuals we support come from various backgrounds with unique needs and interests. Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends, is also required. Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are vital attributes for success in this role.
Benefits
In return for your dedication, we offer competitive pay rates ranging from $23.50 to $29.10 per hour, along with a variety of shifts. We provide opportunities to earn while you learn with free training towards NZQA Health and Wellbeing qualifications. Additional benefits include access to our Employee Assistance Program for health and wellbeing support and a referral bonus program for recommending friends to join our team.
If you are passionate about supporting individuals in achieving their goals, we encourage you to consider a role with us at NZCL.
